Printer Requirements

Minimum:

  • Enclosed 3D printer (Bambu Lab X1C, P1S, or P2S recommended)
  • Hardened steel nozzle (0.4mm) — mandatory for PA6-GF, glass fiber destroys brass
  • PEI build plate
  • Chamber temperature capability (50°C+)

Materials needed:

  • PA6-GF filament (~120g per cage) — Polymaker, Bambu Lab, or similar
  • TPU 95A filament (for mounting clips) — any brand

Print time: ~5 hours for the cage body + 30 min for clips

Key Settings (Included in Profile)

  • Nozzle: 280°C
  • Bed: 85°C on PEI plate
  • Chamber: Preheat to 50-60°C
  • Cooling: Minimal (15-20%)
  • Brim: Yes, 8mm

Why PA6-GF?
